Position Summary:
Utilize surveying instruments and conduct surveys as instructed by supervisory personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Guidance

Execute tasks under the close supervision of a seasoned professional, adhering to established protocols and clearly defined processes. Receive guidance on all facets of assignments, specific duties, and execution methods. Work is thoroughly evaluated by senior staff to ensure the application of effective techniques and principles.

Operational and Organizational Duties


Collaborate as part of a survey team conducting boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for both public and private sector clients.

Execution of Duties

Set up and operate surveying equipment, including total stations, data collectors, levels, and GPS systems.

Perform survey calculations.

Conduct all aspects of stakeout and location surveys utilizing appropriate surveying tools.

Maintain the surveying equipment and ensure the survey vehicle is stocked with necessary supplies and tools.

Coordinate the activities of assigned junior personnel.

Conduct accuracy and calibration checks and make necessary adjustments on the equipment used.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant experience may be considered.

Completion of college or technical courses in mathematics and surveying is advantageous.

This is an entry-level position; no prior experience is required, although any survey or construction-related experience is beneficial.

Familiarity with field procedures for conducting boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys is preferred.

Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Primarily outdoor work environment, which may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and potential hazards.


Mobility around job sites may include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling, along with the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment may necessitate traversing the assigned study area for several hours.


Local travel during business hours is typical, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be necessary based on business needs.

Occasional lifting or carrying of up to 20 pounds.

Occasional pushing or pulling of up to 20 pounds.

Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder height.
