Duties, Responsibilities & Other
We are hiring a Senior Survey Project Manager to join our team in Columbia, SC
Candidates should possess a passion for building client relationships, marketing engineering and surveying services and an ability to manage staff. Planning, directing, and coordinating operations, including project managers, staff surveyors, technicians, and field operations. Manage master contracts including fee estimation, project set-up, and execution of work. Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks and ensure compliance with scope and timely completion. Prepare client invoices, deliverables, and project-related correspondence. Responsible for accuracy, timeliness and financial performance of assigned projects. Business DevelopmentDevelop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients. Ability to prepare proposals, cost estimates, plats, legal descriptions and sketches, roadway databases, topographic surveys, compute survey data, etc. Assist in documenting the performance of project team members through completion of Project Staff Reviews. Communicating significant performance issues to team members and Practice Leader so that appropriate action may be taken.Position Requirements:
Candidates must be a SC Licensed Professional Land Surveyor. Other State survey registrations a plus North Carolina Department of Transportation experience required. High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Experience in Trimble Business Center, Microstation, Geopack, and OpenRoads software preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 9 - 14 years of professional experience. Appropriate professional certification preferred. Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
Performance Expectations
Complete Annual Individual Training Program Mentor and train staff Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence Develop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next project Comply with all KCI policies and procedures Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required Complete other duties as required/assigned Provide input to develop project-specific safety plans and implement project safety plans and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations Report monthly proposal results to operations manager Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical) Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks Chart and provide project performance results Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required Deliver all projects on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope Ensure effective use of equipment and personnel Meet monthly(or more frequently as necessary) with project analyst to review project invoices Meet monthly with practice leader to review project performance Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters Prepare and submit monthly project completion report Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required Prepare monthly progress reports for all projects Prepare monthly project staff utilization plan Propose and negotiate scope, schedule and fee estimate for tasks and projects Provide bi-weekly percent complete data to project assistant Provide monthly project updates to practice leader Provide monthly WIP/AR comments to the operations manager Provide technical project and staff oversight Provide weekly new project budget data to the practice leader Serve as project or task manager on select projects Compare field data to design plans Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval Read and interpret technical documents required for project execution#LI-KH1
