Job Summary

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Safety Inspector to join our team. As an Aviation Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of air travel by conducting inspections and investigations of aviation organizations and individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and investigations of aviation organizations and individuals to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve aviation safety and reduce the risk of accidents.
  • Collaborate with other FAA employees and stakeholders to share best practices and improve aviation safety.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to aviation organizations and individuals on FAA regulations and standards.
  • Investigate and report on aviation accidents and incidents to identify causes and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Must have a strong understanding of FAA regulations and standards.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1,500 total flight hours.
  • Minimum 1 year of pilot experience in multi-engine aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight.
  • Three years of experience working in an organization with an air carrier, commercial operator, or air agency certificate.
