Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Climate Services Specialist to join our team at ICF. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and support to our interagency groups developing, coordinating, and delivering domestic and international climate services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applied global change science or policy, adaptation or decision science, or other closely related topics. They will possess excellent facilitation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at a given time while interacting with multidisciplinary teams to develop, advance, and achieve project goals.

The Senior Climate Services Specialist will work closely with our leadership to provide facilitation and interagency coordination to support climate services projects undertaken by our organization. This includes fostering communication about, and coordination among, agency climate service projects and activities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the federal and non-federal landscape of climate services and be able to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to navigate bureaucratic and collaboration challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to help coordinate USGCRP Climate Services interagency bodies.
  • Provide technical expertise in the development of an easily accessible and navigable network of Federal climate services resources.
  • Identify and design engagement opportunities to understand the climate services needs of federal and non-federal entities and utilize such engagements to inform and improve federal climate services activities and products.
  • Support coordination of climate service-focused modeling, data products, and information provision efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5 years+ OR Master's degree AND 4 years+ of full-time professional work experience in applied global change science or policy, adaptation or decision science, or other closely related topics.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of climate services development and/or delivery.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities at a given time while interacting with multidisciplinary teams to develop, advance, and achieve project goals.
