Position Summary
The Revenue Accountant plays a crucial role in collaborating with local markets and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely reflection of transactions related to resident accounts. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing and validating payments and charges recorded on resident ledgers.

Key Responsibilities
The essential duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough reviews of resident ledgers.
  • Processing payments and charges efficiently.
  • Generating various financial reports.
  • Providing assistance to teams regarding inquiries related to resident accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Review and correct 3rd Party Property Management ledger entries.
- Deliver exceptional support to Property Management and market teams in response to information requests.
- Monitor the daily Yardi Payment Dashboard and rectify payment discrepancies.
- Reapply misallocated payments as necessary.
- Prepare and post adjusting entries to resident ledgers upon request.
- Compile weekly utility credit files for resident accounts.
- Manage bulk upload processes.
- Accurately code HAP (Section 8), rent, rental assistance, and SODA checks received at the corporate level.
- Code and deposit weekly expense reimbursement checks.
- Maintain updated payment tracking systems.
- Generate monthly write-off files for accounts designated for collections.
- Oversee accounts in collections, including communication with collection agencies.
- Prepare monthly General Ledger reconciliations for all entities.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a high-volume accounting setting.
- Experience in real estate or property accounting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Yardi software is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to new technology platforms and processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient reconciliation skills.
- Competence in using personal computers and advanced knowledge of email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.
- Capability to perform mathematical and accounting functions.
- Understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to connect with others.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Quick and effective decision-making abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
