Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Kubernetes Platform Infrastructure, including but not limited to:
    • Creating and managing functional Kubernetes Infrastructure as Code tailored to consumer requirements based on ticket specifications (including Security/Policy & Network, Monitoring & Logging, Storage, CI/CD Pipelines, Service Mesh, and Backup & Restore solutions).
    • Collaborating with stakeholders, development teams, and product teams to comprehend operational product requirements, feature specifications, architecture, configuration management, and testing processes.
    • Managing time effectively for assigned tasks to ensure progress and provide Level of Effort (LOE) forecasts to stakeholders.
    • Assisting in documenting implementation requirements prior to execution.
    • Ensuring adherence to industry and security best practices in alignment with SSP and ISSO(s).
    • Researching and analyzing trends in relevant tools and technologies.
    • Participating in team code reviews, cross-training, brainstorming sessions, sprint reviews, and planning sessions.
    • Creating and maintaining clear implementation documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Reporting bugs and proposing new features to the Change Control Board (CCB).
    • Providing after-hours support as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Kubernetes (K8s) application development and administration.
  • Experience with containerization technologies.
  • Strong skills in Linux (RHEL) administration, including storage and interface management, hardening, patching, and bash scripting.
  • Expertise in Ansible or similar automation tools for configuration management and deployment.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
  • Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in Terraform.
  • Experience with Go and Python programming languages.
  • Familiarity with GitLab or similar version control systems.
  • Knowledge of Helm Charts.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Active Sec + IAD 2 certification is mandatory.

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • CKA Certification or similar (Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, or Certified Kubernetes Security).
  • Experience with GitOps.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices.
  • Familiarity with unit testing.
  • Understanding of Ingress/Egress networking.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
