Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the high availability of client systems while adhering to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and managing AWS API Gateway resources for Microservices endpoints and administrative functions.
  • Overseeing development and operations processes, as well as managing AWS environments.
  • Collaborating with customers and development teams to gather and analyze requirements for new systems and infrastructure.
  • Working alongside developers and technical personnel to facilitate the migration and management of services within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment and physical data centers.
  • Supporting development, testing, quality assurance, and production environments as part of the operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cloud compute, storage, and other services on AWS.
  • Automate provisioning, decommissioning, deployment of services, and security updates.
  • Contribute to existing hybrid IT architecture and identify opportunities for cloud-based solutions to reduce data center footprint.
  • Deploy and manage Docker Container Microservices using AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, and ECR.
  • Oversee development repositories and application deployment activities utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Stay informed about new AWS offerings and services.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Architecture, and Development teams to ensure quality project delivery and ongoing support.
  • Work with AWS support to resolve product limitations and issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation for support and disaster recovery.
  • Meet or exceed SLAs for resolving help desk incidents or requests.
  • Estimate AWS costs and implement cost optimization strategies.
  • Identify potential scaling challenges and define monitoring and resolution strategies.
  • Continuously improve scripts, recipes, and templates for reproducible deployments.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation within a 24x7 environment.
  • Function effectively as a team member in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Essential Skills:

  1. Expertise in Cloud Systems Engineering with AWS (scaling, CI/CD).
  2. Experience in DevOps, including automation scripting for deployments.
  3. Proficiency in containerization with Docker.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of AWS Cloud experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an AWS DevOps Engineer.
  • 5 years of experience in a 24x7 production environment, ideally across multiple data centers.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with microservices in a SaaS context.
  • Proficiency in at least two Infrastructure as Code scripting languages, along with shell and Python scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience in automating Microservices deployment and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of common Linux distributions (e.g., CentOS, Debian).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with monitoring technologies such as NewRelic and Splunk.
  • Thorough understanding of fundamental internet protocols including DNS, HTTP, and TCP.
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) and Big Data solutions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Government Issued Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations.
  • AWS DevOps certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS FedRamp services.
  • Experience or certification in Okta/Saviynt.
  • Experience in WebSphere portal server administration.
