Job Summary

Lamons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Director to lead our branch operations sector towards high performance in Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, and Cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes and procedures to enhance customer on-time delivery and improve overall efficiency.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor and analyze performance against annual objectives, identifying areas for improvement and executing corrective action plans.
  • Team Development: Counsel, coach, and develop staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments and branches on projects, kaizens, and continuous improvement activities to drive business growth and excellence.
  • Accountability: Ensure delivery of goals on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost, and Compliance KPIs for the operations department.
  • Support Functions: Actively contribute to supporting functions such as purchasing, supply chain management, quality, and other related areas, providing feedback on improvements.
  • Order Processing: Contribute to the processing of orders and material transfers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in the Global Continuous Improvement initiative, specifically Kaizen Events, 5S, CI Projects, and QA Initiative.
  • Reporting: Communicate and deliver required reports, metrics, and updates to branch manager and senior management in a timely, concise, and professional manner.
  • Disciplinary Actions: Handle all disciplinary and accountability issues based on policy and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Performance Management: Develop and maintain a documented performance management and accountability system for all team members, with regular evaluations and results.
Requirements
  • Managerial Skills: Excellent managerial and supervisory skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Operations Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of operations and production management, with the ability to interpret financial data to set production goals.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with the ability to analyze and develop improvement actions based on BI reports.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with 5+ years' experience as a Plant/Operations Manager.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting and Computer Work: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Facility Access: Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
  • Lifting: Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
  • Travel: May require traveling on occasion.
