The Area Operations Director serves as the key leader for a specified TEI Construction Services area. This role encompasses the establishment and maintenance of client relationships, preparation of cost estimates and proposals, and the provision of comprehensive project oversight from inception to completion. The Area Operations Director will report directly to the Regional Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and reviews cost estimates using established templates; oversees the transition of estimates into formal proposals.
- Facilitates the internal evaluation of Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and advises on bidding decisions aligned with the strategic goals of the area, region, and company.
- Submits proposals through the company's commercial processes.
- Builds and nurtures relationships with both new and existing clients in accordance with the sales strategy of the area and region; collaborates with sales representatives to enhance business development efforts.
- Monitors project activities to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Provides project updates to senior management, addressing challenges and proposing timely corrective actions.
- Conducts risk assessments for project-related issues and recommends solutions that align with both short-term and long-term objectives.
- Oversees the review process for area projects from initial sales identification through to project completion.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of project leadership, providing coaching and mentorship to direct reports to foster positive improvements; recommends personnel changes when necessary.
- Ensures all commercial, operational, and reporting obligations are met by designated deadlines.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of project management principles and risk management tools.
- Technical expertise in power generation facilities and associated equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Education and Experience
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in field engineering, project management, or a related field.
