Position Overview:
Vaco is seeking a GL Property Supervisor. This role is fully remote, but candidates must reside in specific regions.

Role Summary:
The GL Property Supervisor will oversee and guide a team of accountants responsible for the preparation, review, and adjustment of precise monthly financial reports for designated condominium and homeowners associations. This position ensures adherence to statutory requirements and established departmental policies while meeting all contractual deadlines. The supervisor will also assist the Financial Reporting Leadership Team in upholding compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily operations of the assigned accounting team, ensuring adherence to processes and maintaining high-quality financial reporting standards.
  2. Prioritize timely completion of tasks and ensure all deadlines are met through effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
  3. Monitor and evaluate the work of accountants, ensuring quality control over all financial transactions.
  4. Guide the resolution of internal and external issues, ensuring that all outstanding items from previous months are addressed.
  5. Proactively communicate potential discrepancies that may impact the accuracy of financial reports.
  6. Provide ongoing training to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  7. Set and communicate performance goals for both individuals and the department.
  8. Assist external CPA auditors during audits and reviews, including the analysis and posting of year-end adjustments.
  9. Conduct research and generate ad-hoc reports to address accounting inquiries.
  10. Support Property Managers and Regional Directors with accounting-related inquiries in a timely manner.
  11. Review and approve association budgets in line with departmental standards.
  12. Engage in various projects as directed by leadership and assist peers as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:

  2. Participate in meetings and collaborative groups to address issues, obtain approvals, and stay informed on new developments and regulatory guidelines.
  3. Adhere to all safety protocols while performing job duties.
  4. Follow all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures as directed by management.
  5. Complete special projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution, with a minimum of five years of experience in general ledger accounting. Supervisory experience is preferred, along with a CAM license or CPA certification. Prior experience in property management or real estate is highly desirable.
