Position Overview:
Vaco is seeking a GL Property Supervisor. This role is fully remote, with candidates expected to reside in specific regions.

Role Summary:
The primary responsibility is to oversee, guide, and direct a team of Accountants in the accurate preparation, assessment, and modification of monthly Financial Statements for designated Condominium and/or Homeowners Associations. This must be done in accordance with statutory requirements and established departmental policies, ensuring all contractual deadlines are adhered to. Support the Financial Reporting Leadership Team in upholding compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage daily operations of the assigned team, ensuring adherence to processes and procedures, while reviewing financial statements and related outputs to maintain quality standards.
  2. Prioritize timeliness and ensure deadlines are consistently met. Engage with team members, peers, leadership, and operations to meet client expectations.
  3. Oversee and evaluate accountants' work, ensuring quality control of all transactions performed by team members.
  4. Guide and assist in resolving internal and external issues, ensuring that prior month outstanding items are addressed.
  5. Communicate potential issues that may impact the accuracy of financial statements promptly.
  6. Provide ongoing training to ensure compliance with company, governmental, and customer regulations, policies, and deadlines.
  7. Set and communicate performance goals for individuals and the department.
  8. Assist independent CPA audit firms during audits and reviews, analyzing and posting year-end audit adjustments.
  9. Conduct ad-hoc reporting as necessary, interpreting data to address accounting and financial inquiries.
  10. Support Property Managers, Regional Directors, and Field support with accounting inquiries related to the assigned portfolio.
  11. Approve association budgets in line with departmental standards.
  12. Engage in various projects as directed by leadership and assist peers, including testing and system implementations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
  2. Participate in meetings and workgroups to integrate activities, communicate issues, and resolve problems while maintaining knowledge of new developments and regulatory guidelines.
  3. Adhere to all safety protocols while performing duties.
  4. Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as directed by Management.
  5. Undertake special projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution, with a minimum of five years of general ledger accounting experience. Supervisory experience is advantageous; CAM license and CPA certification are preferred. Prior experience in property management, real estate, or residential management is highly desirable.
