Position Overview:
Vaco is seeking a GL Property Supervisor. This position is fully remote, with candidates required to reside in specific regions.

Role Summary:
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee, guide, and manage a team of accountants in the accurate preparation, review, and adjustment of monthly financial reports for designated Condominium and/or Homeowners Associations. This must be done in accordance with statutory regulations and the established policies and procedures of the department, ensuring all contractual deadlines are met. The role also involves supporting the Financial Reporting Leadership Team in maintaining adherence to accounting standards, policies, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise daily operations of the assigned accounting team, ensuring adherence to processes and procedures while monitoring and reviewing financial statements to uphold departmental quality standards.
  2. Prioritize timeliness and ensure deadlines are consistently met. Maintain effective communication with team members, peers, leadership, and operations to meet client expectations.
  3. Oversee, track, and review the work of accountants, ensuring quality control over all transactions executed by team members.
  4. Provide guidance and assist in resolving internal and external issues. Ensure that outstanding items from previous months are addressed and resolved.
  5. Promptly communicate any potential issues that may impact the accuracy of financial statements.
  6. Deliver ongoing training to ensure all team members are informed of and comply with company, government, and client regulations, policies, and deadlines.
  7. Set and communicate performance goals for individuals and the department.
  8. Assist independent CPA audit firms during audits and reviews of associations, including analyzing and posting year-end audit adjustments.
  9. Conduct ad-hoc reporting as necessary by researching and interpreting data to address accounting and financial inquiries.
  10. Support Property Managers, Regional Directors, and Field support with accounting-related matters for the assigned portfolio by responding to requests in a timely manner.
  11. Approve association budgets in accordance with departmental standards.
  12. Engage in various projects as requested by leadership and assist peers, including participation in testing and system implementations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical integrity.
  2. Participate in meetings and workgroups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay informed about new developments and regulatory guidelines.
  3. Adhere to all safety protocols while performing job duties.
  4. Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as directed by management.
  5. Undertake a variety of special projects, tasks, and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution is required, along with a minimum of five years of general ledger accounting experience. Supervisory experience is advantageous, and a CAM license or CPA certification is preferred. Prior experience in property management, real estate, or residential management is highly desirable.
