We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Social Work at the University of Vermont. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, fostering a culture of excellence, and promoting the department's mission and values.

About the Department

The Department of Social Work is a vibrant and diverse community of scholars dedicated to advancing the field of social work through teaching, research, and service. Our department offers undergraduate and graduate programs in social work, with a focus on transformative social work perspectives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the department
  • Foster a culture of excellence and innovation in teaching, research, and service
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to achieve departmental goals
  • Represent the department at university and external events
Requirements
  • PhD in Social Work or a closely related field
  • Progressive leadership experience in higher education
  • Commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Excellent teaching, research, and service record
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
