Job Summary

We are seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chair of our Department of Social Work. As a Full Professor, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, fostering a culture of excellence, and promoting the department's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and management of the department, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, promoting academic rigor, and encouraging innovation and creativity.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the department's continued growth and success.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Represent the department at university and external events, promoting its mission and values.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Social Work or a closely related field.
  • Progressive leadership experience in higher education, preferably in a social work department.
  • Strong commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scholarly record commensurate with the rank of Full Professor.
  • Experience with extramural funding and research grants.
  • Strong track record of teaching, research, and service.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to promote the department's growth and success.
