Job SummaryWe are seeking a seasoned Managing Director to lead our Forensic Accounting and Insurance Claims Consulting practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the Ankura brand, generating leads, selling engagements, and successfully managing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Originate business and collaborate with other Managing Directors to sell and deliver engagements that generate significant revenue
- Participate in business development initiatives, including targeting external clients, attending industry conferences, and speaking engagements
- Oversee work across multiple engagements and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results
- Effectively communicate with clients and engagement teams to set expectations and manage timelines
- Provide guidance to teams on overall communication strategy and key messaging
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior client executives
- Manage teams of professionals, including training and mentoring
- Actively participate in performance management, including goal setting, calibration sessions, and formal evaluations
- Develop and maintain thought leadership in the industry through speaking events and written content
- Identify and recruit key talent into Ankura
- Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or litigation/disputes work
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline; Master's degree in business and/or CPA a plus
- Strong commercial leadership skills, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and capturing market share
- Exceptional negotiation skills, with the ability to handle complex and sophisticated situations involving executive and senior-level stakeholders
- High energy style, flexible, and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to complex client environments and situations
- Proven track record of effectively planning for and proactively mitigating risks on engagements
- Expert written communication skills, with the ability to prepare client-ready documents and presentations
- Articulate and persuasive communicator, with the ability to handle executive and difficult audiences
