Job Overview

Nanobiosym, a pioneering nanotechnology company based in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative medical devices that address a broad range of diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electronic systems for medical devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and define requirements for medical device releases.
  • Translate product needs into engineering requirements, allocate system-level requirements into subsystem-level requirements, and ensure complete traceability.
  • Design and build test fixtures for automation, as well as hand-assemble prototypes.
  • Develop firmware code and create bills of materials.
  • Manage projects and progress against schedule, conducting root-cause analysis of issues that arise during development and introduction of products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical circuit design, test, and product development working under a certified quality system (medical device preferred).
  • Proven track record of delivering turnkey projects and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, fabrication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of components and circuits.
  • Ability to write product, design, and performance specifications.
  • Proficiency with medical device regulations (ISO 13485, ISO 14971, 21 CFR part Design Controls).
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment; oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Strong schematic capture skills and good working knowledge of PCB layout software, such as Eagle.
  • General experience with PCB development, including schematic, layout, building, and debugging.
  • Experience in analog and digital circuit design, including signal processing, A/D, D/A, power, and firmware design in C.
  • Proficiency with simulation and testing software, such as Labview, MATLAB, and Simulink.
  • Experience with GUI development kits (Android).
  • Familiarity with JAVA, Verilog, and VHDL.
