Helicopter Safety Compliance Officer

As a key member of the Federal Aviation Administration, the Helicopter Safety Compliance Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of helicopter operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Principal Operations Inspector (POI) for helicopter and air ambulance certifications.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and surveillance of rotorcraft operations to ensure adherence to Federal Aviation regulations.
- Engage in technical functions related to certification, compliance recommendations, and investigations.
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- No more than two incidents of Federal Aviation regulations violations in the past five years.
- Possession of a valid State driver's license.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Absence of chemical dependencies or drug abuse affecting job performance.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Medical Requirements:
All candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position safely and efficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation. The minimum medical standards include:
- Good distant vision in each eye, with the ability to read printed materials without strain (corrective lenses permitted).
- Ability to hear conversational speech (hearing aids allowed).
- No physical conditions that could pose a risk to self or others during flight operations.
Flight Experience:
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of 100 flight hours in Rotorcraft-Helicopter within the last three years.
- A Commercial Helicopter Pilot Rating with Instrument or an Airline Transport Pilot Rating with Helicopter Rating.
- A Flight Instructor Certificate for Rotorcraft-Helicopter and Flight Instructor Instrument Helicopter Rating.
- At least 1,200 hours of total flight time, including specific night and cross-country flight hours.
Specialized Experience:
Candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I/FG-13 level, which includes:
- Assisting or conducting technical functions related to the certification and compliance of rotorcraft operations.
