Overview

SUMMARY

The Safety and Security Specialist, whether working autonomously or collaboratively, is tasked with the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, and visitors at the designated location.

This role involves inspecting personal belongings and bags of individuals.

Your primary duty will be to identify and prevent the unauthorized entry of restricted items, ensuring a secure and pleasant environment for all.

This position is overseen by the Supervisor and/or Management.
Pay and Benefits
Starting Pay at $20.00 DOE
Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES
Responsible for operating the corporate vehicle from the Goldbelt corporate office to the designated launch site.
Accountable for monitoring boat safety protocols.
Responsible for inspecting bags of personnel and visitors.
Conduct thorough examinations of bags, backpacks, purses, and personal items of individuals entering the premises.
May verify the identity of individuals as required, adhering to established protocols.

Enforce security policies and procedures to prevent the entry of restricted items, including weapons, explosives, contraband, or other prohibited materials.

Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when engaging with customers and visitors.
Notify local emergency response agencies in case of an emergency. Maintain order at the site until their arrival and provide basic first aid or CPR as necessary.
Safeguard the interests and property of Goldbelt Security and the Client.
Assist visitors as needed.
Perform other incidental and related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
Ability to work directly with the public, effectively conveying information and assistance daily.
Knowledge of safety and security issues related to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Proficiency in using various computer software systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Deltek timekeeping.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED);
Must be at least 18 years of age;
Minimum of 12 months experience as a licensed security guard.
Six (6) months of experience in public interaction;
Ability to obtain a Security Guard license issued by the State of Alaska;
Ability to pass a background check;
If applicable, ability to obtain basic first aid and CPR certification within 3 months of hire;
If applicable, ability to pass a drug screen;
If applicable, valid driver's license and clean driving record;
Competence in using Microsoft Word documents and timekeeping.

Preferred Qualifications:
Six (6) months of experience in a work environment requiring safety and security measures, such as previous military, law enforcement, or security experience.
