About the Role

Solid Ground is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Programs to lead our housing programs and services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that meet the needs of our participants and advance our mission.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social services, housing, and program management, with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience. You will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure and maintain composure in crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the activities of all Solid Ground housing programs
  • Support Program Manager positions, including aiding with tenant selection procedures
  • Serve as the liaison with Federal, State, County, and other contract/funding sources
  • Oversee Prevention funding to ensure it is being spent, tracked, and managed appropriately
  • Coordinate services with the Family, Youth & Community Engagement Manager
  • Stay well-informed of best practices and issues affecting supportive housing and the participant populations served
  • Represent and market Solid Ground and its programs to other organizations, agencies, and the community at large
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and the Grants Manager to develop, implement, and ensure compliance with a Medicaid-billable service model
  • Oversee the case consultation process, which may include facilitating meetings as needed with Program Managers
  • Regularly audit with Program Managers participant assessments, goal plans, and case files to ensure compliance with contract funding
  • Oversee crisis intervention and termination of services, as appropriate, for all Solid Ground program participants
  • Support Program Managers with training opportunities for direct service staff
  • Serve as the Chief Privacy Officer for all Solid Ground programs and contracts
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of participant records
  • Oversee agency activities in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and internal ClientTrack system
  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as assigned by the Executive Director and/or the Solid Ground Board of Directors
  • Analyze program outcomes and work with Program Managers to create and/or modify programs or delivery of services to better meet participants' needs
  • Participate in site visits and monitoring of all Solid Ground programs by Federal, State, and local service contract funders
  • Assist with the development of a new Client Data management system
  • Assist in the annual budget creation process and monitor program budgets to ensure compliance with allowable expenses and adherence to projected spending targets
  • Manage employee and team performance and the hiring process for positions within the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge through alternative courses of study and life experience
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience in a social services agency or equivalent knowledge
  • Knowledge of the human services nonprofit sector and experience working in a nonprofit setting
  • Understanding and commitment to the 'Housing First' philosophy and Trauma Informed Care practice
  • Understanding of poverty, chemical and mental health issues, domestic violence, and other factors affecting program participants
  • Knowledge of tenant-landlord laws and best practices in supportive housing
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure and maintain composure in crisis situations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to ensure work is completed in a timely and effective manner
  • Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and ability to meet Solid Ground's driving record requirements
