Job Description

The Regional Director of Donor and Board Advancement plays a vital role in supporting field staff in developing and implementing strategic plans for donor and board development. This position serves under the direction of the Regional Vice President to fulfill the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) vision and pursue the FCA mission.

Ministerial Duties
  • Embody FCA's Christian Community Statement and maintain a spiritual rhythm, including daily prayer and Bible study.
  • Provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and living by example.
  • Connect with and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs.
Board Advancement
  • Train and coach Directors to recruit, train, and develop effective and diverse leadership board chairs and board members.
  • Assist Directors in connecting, communicating, and caring for board members and donors.
  • Lead or assist in training staff and boards in maintaining a healthy perspective of cultivating and developing financial resources through relationships.
  • Ensure Directors maintain consistent communication with board chairs.
  • Lead board chair calls for the region.
  • Organize and facilitate board planning retreats.
Donor Advancement
  • Connect, communicate, and care for existing and prospective financial partners to ensure the ministry is fully funded.
  • Submit an annual budget for all expenses as assigned by supervisor and manage and steward the finances for the assigned area.
  • Initiate and implement key donor experiences for the region.
  • Develop and implement a donor communication plan for the region.
  • Establish and execute an annual budget and funding plan by training and developing staff in growing Home Teams, major donors, and events.
  • Represent the region through serving on the Donor and Board Advancement Team and support staff to create synergy and provide organizational alignment, clarity, and continuous improvement of donor and board advancement systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide consistent communication regarding all regional, national, and global ministry initiatives and updates to assure clarity and alignment.
  • Collaborate with other Regional Directors of Donor and Board Advancement to assess and implement potential new processes.
  • Provide key input from the region for national/global advisory teams and task forces.
  • Maintain current knowledge and expertise on key FCA print and digital resources available to equip field staff to support ministry to donors and boards.

The Northland Regional Director of Donor and Board Advancement must live in one of the Northland states: Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin.
