The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Frameworks division at Microsoft is dedicated to developing advanced AI software that facilitates the deployment of AI models across a diverse range of platforms, from cutting-edge AI supercomputers to everyday devices such as desktops, mobile phones, IoT gadgets, and web browsers.

Our team collaborates closely with hardware engineers and partners to construct comprehensive software stacks for AI throughout Microsoft. We engage directly with OpenAI to enhance the performance and efficiency of models hosted on the Azure OpenAI service. Operating at the crossroads of AI algorithmic advancement, specialized AI hardware, systems, and software, we pride ourselves on being a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled and motivated individuals who foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.

We are in search of a seasoned Senior Product Manager - AI Solutions to join our ranks.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the software infrastructure that supports the latest frontier models on state-of-the-art AI accelerator hardware.

The Senior Product Manager - AI Solutions will work in partnership with engineers, researchers, finance, marketing, and business development teams to evaluate, prioritize, and execute on the most promising initiatives that deliver substantial impact.

We seek an individual with a proven track record of creatively addressing and resolving complex technical challenges, coupled with a passion for developing platforms that enhance performance and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a unified vision with cross-functional peers and executives.
  • Lead the definition of product requirements, planning, and design (including writing specifications) for new features and enhancements.
  • Oversee product development alongside a team of exceptional engineers and designers.
  • Collaborate across functions to launch features into the service.
  • Proactively identify and address obstacles to achieving success.
  • Define and analyze metrics that gauge the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Adapt and learn rapidly in a dynamic environment.
  • Identify new avenues for product investment.
  • Share actionable insights, learnings, and feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in deep learning, machine learning, and/or AI.

Preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrixed environment and navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate ideas to diverse audiences: customers, engineers, executives.
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of deep learning and AI.
  • Understanding of distributed systems at scale.
  • Experience with GPUs and other AI accelerators.
  • Hands-on experience with development tools for AI models and their lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of deep learning optimization and acceleration techniques.

Compensation:
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year.

Different ranges apply to specific work locations. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
