Position Overview

Role Summary

The Client Support Specialist plays a crucial role in fulfilling the mission of Ascend Nonprofit Solutions by offering hope and recovery to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child maltreatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Utilize a trauma-informed, client-focused methodology to:
    • Conduct intake, assessments, case management, crisis intervention, safety planning, and provide necessary information and referrals.
    • Ensure seamless client care through collaboration with essential community partners.
    • Prioritize client needs and expectations in all interactions.
    • Manage incoming calls, screening and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain confidential and accurate records for clients, stakeholders, interns, and volunteers in agency databases.
    • Assist in grant reporting and manage relationships with grantors as directed.
    • Follow agency protocols for documentation, incident reporting, and client feedback, participating in quality assurance initiatives.
    • Support office operations by managing correspondence, maintaining office supplies, and overseeing petty cash and gift card distributions.
    • Keep accurate logs of deposits and assist with check distribution.
    • Collaborate with direct care staff to ensure electronic client files are current and adhere to record retention policies.
    • Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail while working independently.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Enhance awareness of victimization and available resources through public speaking and media engagements.
    • Participate in community meetings and committees as assigned.
    • Foster and maintain professional relationships with agency staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Professional Growth:
    • Stay informed on best practices and trends related to trauma and victimization, particularly concerning intimate partner violence and sexual violence.
    • Engage in ongoing training to maintain and enhance relevant skills and certifications.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the agency by performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Preferred experience in victim services or human services.
  • Language Skills: Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and perform various physical activities.
  • Capability for close vision, distance vision, and depth perception to accurately complete work assignments.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving reaching, standing, walking, and other physical movements.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Access to reliable transportation is necessary to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
