Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Midwood Smokehouse. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading our culinary team and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulate production according to restaurant needs and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Build and maintain wood fires in pit and communicate with line staff to keep production stocked.
- Prepare and stock seasoned meats for production and enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards and procedures for food handling, cleanliness, and restaurant maintenance.
- Direct the hiring, supervision, development, and when necessary, termination of employees.
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years working as a full-time Chef, with heavy BBQ experience preferred.
- Experience in quality food production, presentation, service, and sanitation.
- Advanced understanding of professional cooking, knife handling skills, and a voracious appetite for knowledge.
- Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to staff, peers, supervisors, and guests.
- Must respect the process, the meat, and cooking in general, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
