As a rapidly advancing healthcare organization, we are at the forefront of developing effective treatment strategies for children with neurodevelopmental challenges. Our mission is to provide transformative care - one child, one family, one community at a time. We aspire to create a world that nurtures the full potential of every child. At Cortica, each team member plays a crucial role in helping us fulfill our mission.

Our organizational culture and values shape our interactions and how we treat one another. All employment decisions at Cortica are based on an individual's qualifications and ability to effectively perform job responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set objectives based on assessment data that target core challenges in ASD, focusing on fostering spontaneous communication during functional activities, engaging in reciprocal communication exchanges, and generalizing improvements across various activities, settings, and communication partners.
  • Utilize a multimodal communication approach (e.g., spoken language, gestures, speech-generating devices [SGDs], and/or written language) tailored to the individual's capabilities and communication contexts.
  • Assist in implementing treatment plans for speech and language services, including social language objectives and goals for literacy development, as well as aiding the student in self-regulatory and social interactive skills.
  • Acquire and apply a comprehensive, specialized language program unique to our organization.
  • Educate family members and support staff on the implementation of language programs.
  • Act as an essential member of a multidisciplinary team working with children with developmental disabilities and their families/caregivers.
  • Collaborate closely with an exceptional team that is redefining the standard of care for children and families affected by autism.
  • Engage in deep collaboration with clinicians and therapists from various disciplines.
  • This role may require occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Team members may occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed to practice as a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant in the State of California.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations.
  • Experience with patients diagnosed with autism.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Proficient in using software and systems, including electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient information is preferred.
