Position Overview:

Our Finance & Administration (F&A) team is in search of a full-time Head of Business Intelligence to join our dynamic engineering and environmental consulting firm. We are looking for a seasoned financial leader to collaborate with Senior Executives, as well as Operations and Corporate leaders, to deliver data-driven insights that enhance business performance. In this capacity, you will oversee the Business Intelligence function within the Finance Department, managing a team of analysts and being responsible for budget preparation, financial performance reporting, internal management report design, valuation model maintenance, and responding to ad hoc data inquiries. You will play a pivotal role in the Finance Leadership Team, supporting essential company initiatives and shaping the vision for the finance department. Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a vision for the Company’s analytics strategy, developing informative and concise periodic report standards and employing advanced analytic techniques to derive key insights for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with company executives and operations leaders to identify their reporting needs and utilize data expertise to transform those requirements into engaging visualizations and analyses.
  • Supervise the Company’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
  • Manage the analysis of performance results and communication protocols to leadership, while fulfilling ad hoc data requests from users across the Company.
  • Ensure all team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform essential tasks during varying demand periods, fostering opportunities for contribution, learning, and growth while maintaining a balanced workload.
  • Partner with Digital Services, other F&A leaders, and operations leaders to define key F&A initiatives and business needs; translate those requirements to ensure technology needs are met and systems are efficiently built to support the organization.
  • Act as a change agent for new processes, technologies, or policies, including the development of user procedures, guidelines, communication strategies, and training.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA/CPA or relevant graduate degree is a plus.
  • Over 10 years of progressive FP&A and data analysis experience, with at least 5 years in finance leadership roles.
  • Expertise in business systems and data architecture, with a history of close collaboration with IT teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in designing and maintaining complex financial models.
  • Proficiency in writing code and advanced queries for accessing various system data (Cognos, SQL, etc.).
  • Demonstrated mathematical and analytical acumen with the ability to convert data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with a professional services business model is preferred; engineering industry experience is a plus.
  • High tolerance for uncertainty, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and critically analyze situations to develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience leading a function and developing a remote team of at least three members.
  • Proven experience partnering with and presenting to top company executives and operations leaders.

The compensation range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may vary depending on skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be adjusted in the future.
