In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Financial Intelligence (FI) Team Lead to ensure adherence to departmental standards regarding alert, case, and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) quality and timeliness.

Your responsibilities will include making recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental processes and procedures.

You will investigate intricate cases of potential money laundering, terrorist financing, and financial crimes across the entire Associated Bank network. This will involve utilizing an internal monitoring system, referrals from various business lines, and open-source intelligence such as negative media, internet research, peer bank information, and law enforcement data.

Additionally, you will research and comprehend trends and scenarios related to money laundering, fraud, and enhanced due diligence to effectively apply that intelligence to observed activities in customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in investigations using the bank's resources, providing guidance, coaching, and development to other Financial Intelligence Analysts.
  2. Document all findings in a centralized case management system, including writing detailed narratives that support your conclusions. This may involve filing a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) when necessary.
  3. Exhibit sound judgment while examining, identifying, and documenting suspicious behaviors and patterns, determining the appropriateness of filing a SAR.
  4. When necessary, escalate and/or refer problematic accounts or customers in accordance with established procedures.
