Engineering Staff Consultant

As an Engineering Staff Consultant, you will be engaged in providing expert engineering and advisory services across a diverse range of projects and clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engineering and consulting expertise for various assignments.
2. Conduct and lead field assessments, engineering evaluations, calculations, and recommendations.
3. Design and develop project plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with established standards.
4. Review construction drawings and oversee compliance with project specifications.
5. Prepare project proposals and cost estimates, monitor project timelines and budgets, and suggest necessary adjustments.
6. Investigate and resolve design and construction challenges.
7. Evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in comprehensive reports.
8. Communicate complex engineering concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Project Scope:
Services may encompass existing or proposed initiatives in public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.
Essential Functions:
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards for all assignments.
- Engage in pre-task planning and report any safety concerns to management.
- Uphold quality standards across all projects.
- Manage and execute smaller projects with minimal complexity.
- Assist in defining project scopes for routine tasks.
- Support the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other project documentation.
- Analyze data and perform engineering calculations for professional review.
- Coordinate or supervise field investigations and laboratory testing.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned work.
- Collaborate closely with senior project managers and Professional Engineers to gain valuable project management experience.
- Make design recommendations for review by the Professional Engineer of Record.
- Prepare project scopes, proposals, and reports for senior professional approval.
- May oversee field staff, including graduate engineers and laboratory personnel.
- Interact with clients and project teams to define service scopes and communicate project status.
- Operate under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- A Master's degree in Engineering is preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification is required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable violation history.
