Position Overview

AECOM Water is on the lookout for a Hydraulic Engineering Specialist II to join our Water Resources Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to specific and defined segments of broader projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Collects and correlates fundamental engineering data following established procedures.
  • Handles detailed or routine engineering tasks that involve calculations and straightforward tests.
  • Proposes solutions to new challenges encountered during projects.
  • Identifies inconsistencies in results and provides corrective guidance.
  • Mentors entry-level engineers.
  • Ensures work aligns with agreed budgets and timelines with moderate oversight.
  • Collaborates with project managers, hydraulic engineers, and GIS specialists on floodplain modeling, stormwater management, drainage planning, and other water resource initiatives.
  • Prepares comprehensive project documentation, including engineering calculations and technical reports.
  • Assists with various project management responsibilities.
  • Works effectively within a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Master's degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in hydraulic engineering.
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineering License (PE) within three years.
