Position Summary

AECOM is looking for a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to be based in New Orleans, LA. This role involves fieldwork and project assignments primarily in Louisiana and Texas.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and demonstrate proficiency in geotechnical design and analysis. A strong focus on client satisfaction and professional integrity is essential. You will play a crucial role in guiding junior engineers and collaborating with project managers to meet project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations, including soil and rock sampling, geophysical testing, and construction inspections for geotechnical structures.
  • Utilize advanced software tools for geotechnical analysis, including GeoStudio, LPILE, and Plaxis.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Design various geotechnical structures, including foundations, retaining walls, and tunnels.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical reports and ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Engage with clients and contribute to proposal development.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • U.S. citizenship or naturalized citizenship required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Experience with geotechnical software and field investigation techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Additional Information

Relocation and sponsorship are not available for this position. Project site travel may be required as necessary.
