Position Overview:
This role provides an exceptional opportunity to leverage and enhance your expertise in electrical transmission engineering, encompassing conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles. You will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Designing transmission lines within the voltage range of 69kV to 500kV.
2. Conducting cost analyses and developing design criteria, including routing and siting of transmission lines.
3. Performing conductor selection studies, along with shielding, grounding, and induction assessments.
4. Collaborating with vendors and clients to specify essential transmission line components.
5. Leading a small project team to ensure successful project execution.

1. Collaborate with seasoned engineers and mentor junior staff.
2. Engage with a diverse client base and interact with various project teams.
3. Travel occasionally for site assessments and client consultations.
4. Prepare proposals and cost estimates for prospective projects.

Qualifications:
We do not provide sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S. for this role.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- A degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD software for reviewing transmission line models.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project teams, adhering to schedules and budget constraints on various transmission projects, including:
- Transmission line design that meets code requirements.
- Development of cost estimates and project schedules.
- Preparation of specifications for procurement of transmission line materials and construction.
- Liaising with construction and installation teams.
- Knowledge of right-of-way requirements, conductor sags/tensions, and the ability to verify transmission line plans and profiles.
- Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans and models.
- Experience in drafting support documentation for engineering calculations.
- Understanding of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.

Valued Skills and Experience:
- A current PE license or the ability to obtain one within a year is preferred.
- Experience in developing engineering proposals and cost estimates.
- Familiarity with scheduling processes.
- Proficiency in programs such as PLS-TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
