The Junior Visual Content Curator will report directly to the Photography Director. This role is essential in developing daily visual content solutions that align with the editorial vision across both digital and print formats, ensuring that our brand's visual identity is consistently upheld throughout the Condé Nast network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission and produce photographic content for various stories and features, collaborating closely with editors and designers to determine the most effective visual representation for each narrative.
  • Conduct photo research for both digital and print editions.
  • Source, license, and edit images and videos across multiple editorial verticals.
  • Utilize Photoshop for tasks such as color correction, toning, and cropping.
  • Assist the design team in producing digital illustrations.
  • Oversee all aspects of photo shoot production, including creating call sheets, shot lists, hiring crews, negotiating rates, and securing necessary agreements.
  • Adhere to copyright laws and uphold artist rights for Condé Nast publications.
  • Review portfolios of photographers and actively seek new talent and potential photo essays for various formats.
  • Ensure that the visual standards of Condé Nast are maintained across all platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in photography, media, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is required.
  • Experience in managing photo shoot production.
  • Familiarity with digital and social media content, particularly vertical video.
  • Understanding of artist contracts, copyright laws, and photo licensing.
  • A keen eye for talent and extensive knowledge of photographers, videographers, and artist agencies.
  • Experience in animation and digital illustration is advantageous.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to editorial decisions and support the development of visual narratives across platforms.
  • Experience as a photographer is a plus.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
  • A BA or BFA in photography or studio art is preferred.
This position is part of a guild.

The expected salary range for this role is between $69,000 and $72,000, with offers based on a variety of factors including skills, training, experience, and education.
