Your Role

Cosmopolitan is on the lookout for a dynamic Visual Content Creator. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional visual storytelling abilities, coupled with a solid grasp of design principles, typography, photography, and motion graphics. Reporting to the Digital Creative Director, you will support design initiatives for daily content, major features, and unique projects across our editorial divisions. We expect you to contribute to the production, design, and animation of visual assets for our website and social media platforms. The right individual will bring a distinctive and sophisticated design aesthetic along with animation expertise. This role demands agility and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and sustain innovative visuals for Cosmopolitan's digital and social media channels.
  • Create animations and motion graphics tailored for our website and social platforms.
  • Design digital photo treatments and graphic layouts for various content.
  • Incorporate animated elements and typography into video and social media assets.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to generate ideas and visual solutions during brainstorming sessions. Illustration skills are advantageous.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in design and animation.
  • Proficiency in design and animation software (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Ability to transform concepts into visually compelling designs.
  • Take ownership of projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Confidence in presenting new ideas and advancing processes.
  • Exceptional multitasking skills with a natural sense of urgency.
  • Strong commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of the digital landscape and competitive environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and proactively address challenges.
  • A unique storytelling approach and passion for creating meaningful work that reflects diverse perspectives.
  • Familiarity with internet culture, memes, and social trends.
  • Expertise in producing engaging, digital-friendly content for web and mobile platforms.
  • Deep understanding of the Cosmopolitan brand and audience, with a keen interest in fashion, beauty, food, wellness, and celebrity content.
  • Positive demeanor.
  • Portfolio or work samples are required for consideration.

The base salary for this position ranges from $67,000 to $71,000, influenced by various factors including skills, experience, and market conditions. This role is part of the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
