Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) to lead our financial management and administrative teams. This critical role will shape our organization's policies and strategies, driving stability, growth, and innovation. As a key member of our Executive Team, you will coach and foster cohesive teams, promoting a culture of cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Leadership
- Serves as a member of the Executive Team to set organizational strategies ensuring longevity and growth.
- Works closely with senior leaders to align their priorities and long-term goals with annual budgets and execution.
- Provides financial and strategic information to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors, supporting informed decision-making.
- Financial Management
- Provides leadership and support to the Director of Finance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Develops and implements financial strategies to drive results, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Maintains and develops relationships with banking and investment institutions, optimizing returns and mitigating risks.
- Human Resources
- Provides leadership and support to the Deputy Director of HR & DEI, leading the HR team in delivering comprehensive HR services.
- Ensures HR strategies align with the organization's mission and goals, fostering a compassionate culture.
- Contracts and Compliance
- Provides leadership and support to the Director of Contracts and Compliance, developing strategic grant and contract funding plans.
- Ensures contract compliance reporting and partners with operational leadership to meet contractual agreements.
- Information Systems
- Develops IT strategies, including staffing and outsourcing, to leverage current and emerging technologies.
- Oversees contract negotiations with IT contractors and service providers.
- Leadership
- Drives operational excellence, optimizing processes and systems for efficient and effective workflows.
- Fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including senior leadership roles in finance and administration in the nonprofit sector, with government program/contracts experience preferred.
- Outstanding organizational leadership skills, with prior experience leading organizations and/or departments and a demonstrated ability to set sound and inclusive strategies.
- Expertise in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, internal controls, and reporting.
- Proven history of implementing trauma-informed care in leading teams and developing policies and procedures.
- Exceptional people skills, with demonstrated experience developing and coaching diverse teams through the lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accountability, and conflict resolution.
- Builds trust and collaboration from a wide array of stakeholders and believes deeply in the importance of human capital.
- Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development.
Estimated Salary Range
$160,000 - $180,000 per year
