Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and oversee our infection control program in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to CDC, OSHA, and local infection control standards.
- Develop and maintain effective infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Monitor and evaluate infection control practices to ensure compliance with established procedures.
- Actively participate in Infection Control Committee meetings.
- Create and implement a system for identifying, assessing, and reporting infections originating from facility staff.
- Assist in the resident admission process.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Services on budget preparation related to infection control initiatives.
- Plan and conduct training sessions on infection control for all staff members.
- Help develop and maintain individualized care plans for residents under infection control precautions.
- Uphold confidentiality of resident care information and report any breaches.
- Identify and classify tasks with potential exposure to blood and body fluids.
Required Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- At least six months of training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing.
- Infection Prevention Certification through CDC is preferred.
- Knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with nursing and medical protocols, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
