Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the infection control program in compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control standards set by health authorities.
  • Regularly review and update infection control protocols to address identified issues.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control practices among staff.
  • Actively participate in Infection Control Committee meetings.
  • Create and maintain a system for tracking and reporting infections within the facility.
  • Assist in the admission process for new residents.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership on budgetary matters related to infection control initiatives.
  • Plan and conduct training sessions for staff on infection control practices.
  • Develop individualized care plans for residents requiring infection control measures.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding resident health information and report any breaches.
  • Identify and assess job-related functions for potential exposure to infectious materials.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted RN or LPN license in the state.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • At least six months of training in rehabilitative nursing practices.
  • Infection Prevention Certification from a recognized body is preferred.
  • Knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, and infection control standards.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and infection control practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
