As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring Stryker's adherence to domestic unclaimed property regulations through the timely management of affected assets. This position will oversee the annual compliance process in collaboration with our external service provider and all divisions' accounting systems. You will engage with division finance personnel and various CRFSS Coordinators to ensure that items are addressed to maintain thorough compliance with unclaimed property statutes.

Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee all compliance tasks with third-party contractors to gather, review, and submit data to the data portal. Assess data collection outcomes and investigate significant accounts receivable items. Coordinate the resolution of items processed through escheatment and DDL, collaborating with division finance teams. Conduct data collection biannually and resolve items for each wave promptly to avoid additional costs.
- Communicate any data discrepancies to CRFC by utilizing issue listings and participating in scheduled meetings to discuss these matters. Elevate unresolved issues to the Manager and CRFC Manager, Site Leader as necessary.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities, emphasizing teamwork, time management, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
- Responsible for making sound financial decisions regarding potential refunds and reissues of property deemed unclaimed.
- Collaborate with internal partners to address complex transactions that span departments, business units, or corporate boundaries.
- Act as a CRFC resource to resolve potential unclaimed property items across multiple business units on various ERP systems.
- Engage with customers, suppliers, division finance staff, and various CRFSS Coordinators regarding outstanding checks and accounts receivable items, as appropriate.
- Ensure prompt resolution of potential unclaimed property items.
- Address inquiries related to unclaimed property from customers, suppliers, divisions, and various CRFSS Coordinators as they arise.
- Assist in assessing unclaimed property processes and suggest enhancements to Stryker's unclaimed property policy to the Supervisor, Unclaimed Property Compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is required.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is essential.
This position requires you to be within commuting distance to our office. You will be expected to work in the office two days a week, with the flexibility to work from home on the remaining days.
