Position Overview: The NYC Special Commissioner of Investigation is in search of a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Deputy Chief Investigator. This pivotal position involves overseeing a team of confidential investigators and support staff, ensuring thorough evaluations and assessments are conducted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage sensitive investigations related to corruption, criminal activities, and unethical practices.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Chief Investigator in their absence, maintaining continuity in leadership.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the development of investigative programs and initiatives.
- Provide guidance on investigative referrals and monitor the progress of ongoing investigations.
- Resolve internal conflicts and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- Develop and implement internal policies to standardize investigative practices.
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and recommend policy changes to the Department of Education.
- Establish and nurture relationships with law enforcement and administrative agencies across NYC.
- Oversee short and long-term planning for operational programs and special projects.
- Act as Chief Training Officer, ensuring staff are well-equipped for their roles.
Work Environment: This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for remote work after the initial training period.
