Job Summary:

The Chief Diversity Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at CUNY. This will involve working closely with faculty, staff, and students to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes equity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies that align with CUNY's mission and values
  • Provide leadership and guidance on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues to faculty, staff, and students
  • Collaborate with campus leaders to develop and implement policies and programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Conduct investigations and provide recommendations on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues
  • Develop and implement training programs on diversity, equity, and inclusion for faculty, staff, and students
  • Monitor and report on diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics and trends
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g. higher education, diversity and inclusion, education policy)
  • 8+ years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion roles
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in a related field
  • Experience working in higher education or government
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion laws and regulations
