Role Overview

The ServiceNow Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team comprises highly skilled engineers responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud infrastructure.

Our SREs are empowered to resolve technical challenges across the entire technology stack, from hardware to applications and everything in between.

They also focus on enhancing the operability of our platform to minimize incidents and reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR). To achieve this, our SREs integrate software development, networking, and systems engineering expertise with a strong desire to tackle complex challenges and improve services for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

As an SRE, you will:

  • Provide effective and sustainable solutions to infrastructure issues.
  • Utilize your software development, systems engineering, and networking experience to proactively prevent recurring problems.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to enhance the reliability and performance of the infrastructure through better system design.
  • Contribute to a culture that rejects manual processes, fostering a highly automated environment that delivers scalable solutions.
Qualifications

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of Linux systems.
  • Expertise in software design and development.
  • 7+ years of coding experience at the enterprise level in various programming languages, with a preference for Python, JavaScript, and Ruby.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning with MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
  • Expertise in observability and monitoring of applications, services, and networks at scale.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
  • Senior-level networking skills, including IP addressing and routing.
  • A team-oriented mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work shifts that include one weekend day.

Experience with the ServiceNow platform is a plus.
