Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Systems Architect to join our team at Sonatech, LLC. As a leader in undersea acoustics engineering and manufacturing, we specialize in providing cutting-edge SONAR solutions tailored for the defense sector.

Role Summary

This role presents a unique opportunity to design new systems from the ground up and enhance existing technologies. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with clients to establish system concepts, technical requirements, and product specifications. Subsequently, the candidate will guide the technical team throughout the entire development process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of technical requirements and specifications, management of requirements, and ensuring compliance traceability and verification
  • Development of system architecture, interface definitions, system modeling, algorithm creation, data analysis, and conducting trade studies
  • Provide technical direction throughout the development lifecycle
  • Reporting progress to management and client representatives
  • Support systems integration and customer trial initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years in a systems engineering leadership position with hands-on product design and development experience
  • Proven experience in guiding products through the complete development lifecycle and field trials
  • Exceptional cross-functional troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be a US Citizen and capable of obtaining a DoD secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with underwater acoustic positioning systems for tracking and navigation
  • Knowledge of underwater acoustic principles
  • Familiarity with electronic systems that include embedded software applications
  • Experience in developing computer-based performance models using MATLAB to support system concept and design definitions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to clients and senior management

Work Arrangement: Onsite - Remote work is not available for this position.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $220,000
