JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the operational functions of the organization and collaborates with the Sysco Business Services (SBS) team to address exceptions and resolve issues.

Key responsibilities include managing local payments, processing deposits, overseeing petty cash, handling will call transactions, scanning supporting documents, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

This role encompasses various transactional and administrative finance and accounting duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Processing deposits for all cash/manual payments received by the organization.
  • Scanning backup documentation for checks, remittances, and other customer-related documents.
  • Managing the petty cash fund and overseeing replenishments.
  • Scanning invoices and receiving packets for the organization.
  • Reporting quality control issues and providing necessary documentation to the SBS processing teams.
  • Collaborating with quality control teams to ensure claims are submitted for supplier credits.
  • Maintaining and reporting on regulatory compliance (e.g., USDA, food safety documentation).
  • Handling will call transactions, including payments from customers and employees, and processing employee purchases.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma required.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in finance and/or administration, particularly in document flow and transactional processing, with a preference for deposit processing experience.
Professional Skills:
  • Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective verbal communication skills for presentations to groups of customers or associates.
  • Exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two-way communication.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.

The employee frequently needs to reach with hands and arms and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
