Role Summary:

As the Logistics Operations Manager, you will oversee the comprehensive logistics, maintenance, and transportation activities within the branch. Your leadership will focus on supervising, training, and inspiring team members to enhance their productivity, ensuring that resources are effectively utilized to deliver high-quality, efficient services and maintain punctuality for our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers to streamline operations.
  • Optimize daily routes to balance loads for profitability and suggest adjustments for enhanced delivery efficiency.
  • Conduct routine assessments of routes to evaluate efficiency, time requirements, and stop sequences for all same-day and next-day deliveries.
  • Manage the scheduling of weekly driver routes, including vacation and relief coverage, as well as truck maintenance oversight.
  • Supervise the loading of products onto trailers or trucks to ensure safe and efficient transport.
  • Prepare necessary delivery documentation for truckers.
  • Coordinate pick-up schedules with purchasing departments.
  • Develop and implement incentive programs, safe driving initiatives, and cross-training opportunities for drivers to boost their skills and productivity.
  • Administer and/or formulate budgets for the assigned unit, ensuring that operational expenses align with the approved financial plan.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues related to transportation operations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of four years' experience in a supervisory role within transportation.
  • At least three years' experience in fleet management, routing, and safety compliance.

Desirable:

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a valid commercial driver's license.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Knowledge of DOT compliance and auditing processes.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $84,119 and $104,308 annually.
