- The Chief Operations Officer (COO) holds a pivotal Executive role, tasked with steering all operational functions within the organization to guarantee high standards of quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. In partnership with the President, the COO sets forth the strategic goals and objectives for the organization.
- The COO is responsible for developing strategies, crafting plans, organizing resources, and overseeing performance to ensure that the operational and strategic aims of NorDx and MaineHealth are achieved.
- The COO will articulate goals and objectives across the organization and collaborate with Directors to ensure that daily operations align with these objectives. Additionally, the COO evaluates data to identify organizational challenges while prioritizing improvement opportunities and facilitating necessary changes.
- Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: An advanced degree is required, with a preference for a Master's in Business Administration.
- Licenses/Certifications: Not applicable.
- Experience: A background in healthcare management is essential, with a strong preference for experience in laboratory management. A minimum of 5 years in a Senior Management role within a healthcare setting is required.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint at a medium to advanced level, along with familiarity with multiple system platforms.
- Capability to navigate complex technical and management challenges, meet deadlines, and manage several concurrent projects effectively.
