Position Summary

As a Biomedical Equipment Technician II, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and safety of medical imaging equipment. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and electrical safety inspections on imaging and related equipment in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Execute major repairs by replacing faulty components and recalibrating equipment to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Support the training of BMET Technicians in diagnostic imaging.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers and equipment operators to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Provide emergency on-call support as needed.
  • Research and procure repair parts while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Compile and maintain Quality Assurance records and reports to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Document significant asset-related actions in line with departmental practices.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities of a BMET III as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or equivalent military training.
  • A minimum of five years of experience with various imaging equipment manufacturers or related fields.
  • Extensive experience in the repair of radiology equipment and prior biomedical experience.
  • Specialized knowledge in modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, and linear accelerators.
  • Certification (CRES) in various modalities is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties as required.
  • Ability to serve as a technical resource in areas of specialty or certification.
