Job Summary:

The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Veterinarian to join our team. As a key member of our Department of Animal Medicine, you will be responsible for providing and overseeing veterinary medical and surgical care for all research animals on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee veterinary medical and surgical care for research animals
  • Supervise veterinary technicians and ensure compliance with IACUC policies and protocols
  • Consult with investigators on clinical and research-related issues
  • Oversight of the animal enrichment program
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accreditation

Requirements:

  • DVM/VMD from an AVMA-approved College of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
  • License to practice veterinary medicine in a US state
  • ACLAM board certification or eligibility
  • Private practice or rotating internship experience preferred
  • USDA accreditation, ABSL3 experience, or a graduate degree in biomedical science preferred

Working Conditions:

This position is considered essential and requires weekend, holiday, off-hours, and inclement weather coverage as needed on a rotating basis.
