Job Overview

The Service Technician II plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of various security systems. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of electronics, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques. The geographical area of service includes New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting repairs, inspections, and programming of security systems ranging from basic to complex.
  • Performing regular scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance, as well as addressing general service calls.
  • Executing minor installations for system enhancements or modifications.
  • Facilitating system removals when necessary.
  • Engaging in customer outreach initiatives and targeted service programs.
  • Interpreting and following schematic wiring diagrams and termination protocols.
  • Testing system operations to ensure compliance with original specifications and achieving full functionality.
  • Updating as-built drawings and system documentation to reflect current configurations.
  • Assisting Project Managers and Installation Technicians with IT coordination and system commissioning.
  • Collaborating with Operations Managers or Project Managers regarding service job progress and project-related issues.
  • Maintaining safety and responsibility to prevent injuries and property damage, managing inventory to avoid loss, and ensuring a clean work environment.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight for service assignments and training as required.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following:

  • A valid state-issued driver's license.
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting systems such as Mercury Hardware, Andover Controls, Genetec, and Axis Cameras is highly desirable.
  • Compliance with state licensing requirements for alarm and electronic security personnel.
  • A solid grasp of installation techniques, troubleshooting methods, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
  • Familiarity with field test equipment and tools, including multimeters and cable testers.
  • Understanding of IP networking and advanced network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electronic security technologies and relevant building codes.
  • Proficiency in basic office software, including NetSuite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Professional demeanor with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Capability to work safely at heights using ladders and aerial lifts.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to safety protocols and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
