Anesthesia Technician II, 40 Hours, Days

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician II to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in patient care and anesthesia procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in complex surgeries, including cardiac surgery, transplant, trauma, vascular surgeries, and lumbar drain placement for complex aortic surgeries.
- Apply various types of monitors and equipment, such as 3 and 5 lead ECG, NIBP, pulse oximetry, defibrillators, external pacemakers, thromboelastographic, rapid infusion system, etc.
- Place and remove electrocardiograph leads and blood pressure cuff, assist with airway management, and position patients as required.
- Prepare transducer IV and flush system for arterial pressure and Swan Ganz monitoring lines, set up warming devices as required, and remove triggering agents.
- Test equipment and lines for proper operation and leaks, assist in insertion of invasive monitoring such as Swan Catheters, Continuous Cardiac Output Catheters, etc.
- Perform quality assurance tests on Thromboesastogram and HMS Plus equipment, assist in transportation of patients, and observe monitoring equipment to ensure equipment connections.
- Draw arterial, venous, mixed venous samples from existing invasive monitoring lines and finger stick blood samples, perform appropriate tests, and report test results to Anesthetist or others.
- Equivalent to high school plus additional specialized training.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in an academic/teaching hospital.
- Knowledge of a variety of patient care and anesthesia procedures.
