Healthcare Support Specialist

Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Residence Manager and Registered Nurse, the Healthcare Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting with the medical and clinical well-being of the individuals served.
Work Schedule:
At one location, the working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
At another location, the hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
As an essential member of our organization, your duties will encompass, but are not limited to:
Providing assistance, services, and supports that foster independence and active engagement in daily living within the residence.
Maintaining accurate medical records and managing medications; Regularly reviewing medication records for completeness and accuracy and reporting any discrepancies; Ordering medications, medical equipment, and supplies from the pharmacy, ensuring that all items are stored and secured according to agency policies and regulations; Administering medications to individuals.
Supporting the overall functioning of the community-based residence.
Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
High School diploma or GED
Must hold an AMAP Certificate
6-12 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional
A valid driver's license for over two years is required
Participation in, passing, and maintaining certification of required training, including but not limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, and other mandatory training as identified by relevant authorities
Able to engage in physical activities, including but not limited to lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, flexing, and bending
