This full-time role primarily operates during weekday daytime hours, with occasional weekend shifts, and involves rotation between various locations.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing designated radiographic imaging tasks at a technical level that does not necessitate constant oversight. This position requires the ability to competently perform a variety of technical procedures that demand independent judgment and initiative.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately positions patients and conducts imaging procedures. Evaluates results and identifies any issues with image quality, taking necessary actions to rectify these issues, including patient repositioning and repeating procedures. Documents, transmits, and communicates scan results. (40%)
  • Reviews patient medical history and physician directives. Informs patients about procedures, equipment, and examinations to ensure understanding and cooperation. (20%)
  • When required, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice. Continuously monitors patient conditions and responds to any changes as necessary. (20%)
  • Prepares imaging equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure settings and imaging parameters. Adheres to safety protocols and performs quality control checks on equipment. Troubleshoots and resolves equipment malfunctions as needed. (20%)
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Clearance certificates for Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in radiology.
