Overview:


In alignment with the mission of the Eastern Virginia Medical School, the Clinical Nursing Supervisor I will operate under the guidance of the Practice Manager and in collaboration with the Division Directors of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Generalist, and Urogynecology.

This role is accountable for the daily clinical operations and management of the clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:


Ensure adherence to EVMSMG Quality Standards and initiatives aimed at Patient Safety & Quality Care, particularly concerning direct patient interaction, including the training of clinical staff and the implementation of workflow processes.

Oversee the orientation, training, and continuous development of clinical personnel while managing clinical workflow.

Coordinate clinical staff schedules and assignments.

Support the delivery of clinical care through effective training and workflow management for clinical staff.

Supervise nursing personnel, including RNs, LPNs, and MAs within the practice.

Manage operational, capital, and staffing budgets as designated by the Department's Operations Manager.

Maintain appropriate staffing levels and proactively plan for future clinical staffing needs.


Participate in the hiring, evaluation, and termination processes of clinical staff in conjunction with the Practice Manager, Department Operations Manager, and Human Resources.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and CLIA standards and requirements.

Maintain adequate inventory levels for all patient care areas, encompassing medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical supplies.


Assist in all clinical aspects of patient care, including triaging patient inquiries and concerns regarding medical treatment, medication instructions, and assisting providers with patient assessments, examinations, and treatments.

Conduct performance evaluations in collaboration with the Practice Manager and Division Director.

Facilitate smooth patient flow across all clinical areas.

Monitor clinical staff documentation within electronic health records to ensure compliance with medical record standards.

Uphold confidentiality regarding patient and operational matters at all times.

Assist in emergency situations under physician direction.

Prepare and assist with various medical procedures.

Ensure nursing areas are clean, safe, and well-stocked.

Participate in mandatory in-service training and meetings.

Maintain continuing education requirements.

Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by EVMS, EVMSMG, and relevant State and Federal regulations.

Exhibit positive leadership and customer service behaviors.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience is essential, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity. A valid Virginia RN license is mandatory (or LPN with equivalent education and/or experience). Preference for progressively responsible roles in group practice management within a large specialty group.
